Expat Struggles: Losing my marbles

21 Nov 2019 23:42

It is but normal to be confused and to worry, this is your opportunity to create something of your own, build your career in a new country.  This is a known experience for an Expat spouse, you are not the only one rowing the boat of  caution and confusion. This is not a bad at all, people with multiple passions better-known as multipotentialites often gets confused to which path to take - and sometimes you don't really need to choose, you just have to combine your interests, skills, creative talents and expertise to start something of your own.  Emilie Wapnick shared about multipotentialite  in her TEDxBend Talk cited Why is it quite normal being a person with a lot of interests and creative pursuits. Amongst the famous multipotentialites are Leonardo da Vinci, Aristotle, Maya Angelou, Eleanor Roosevelt and the list goes on.  Successful Multipotentialite entrepreneurs and business leaders dived into business venturing because of it was hard for them to find the fulfillment they are looking for when being tasked to do one specific thing they are expected to deliver being an employee. Take Brian Acton and Jan Koum as an example, the co-founders of WhatsApp. They left their successful jobs at Yahoo in 2007, were rejected jobs by Facebook and then they created WhatsApp in 2009, which was bought by Facebook for a little over $19 billion in 2014. If you travel a lot or relocate frequently and considering having a location independent career  and very certain that you want to start something of your own though utterly confused which idea should you pursue, join us from 17:00 - 20:00 this Nov 26 in WTC Almere to find out what might be possible for you and what steps and options you can takehttp://bit.ly/33O6PKx  Our facilitator, Cordelia Blake will guide you through an exploration process and share useful information and tips with you to help you relaunch your career and/or jump start your portable business. In this video, Cordelia will go over the what you will learn during the workshop: https://lnkd.in/dPH8Rr6
